The NeilPryde Racing Series is a tour featuring the new, universal One-design ISAF windsurfing class, the RS:One. The tour started in January in the prestigious Marina Bay in Singapore, and has since made stopovers in Dunkerque , Aalborg, Nice, Miami, Hong-Kong and Fortaleza. The RS:One Class features a new, attractive, and dynamic race format making the racing a spectacle for the crowds.

One sail, one board - everyone on the same equipment allowing male and female racers of all ages to compete together with equal chances. RS:One is a fantastic opportunity for sailing and yachting clubs and federations to organise races and attract newcomers, and bringing back the regatta fans to the sport.

Day 1 Saturday 10th December

20 racers from four nations (Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand) completed four qualification races for this first day of competition (the whole fleet racing together). The intense tempo on a short and dynamic race course allowed the super final to be held at 6.30pm with the top 2 from each division.

For the first time the finalists had the chance and honour to race with the amazing new LED sails in the twilight. The winner of each division (Youth girls, youth boys, Senior Men and Masters Men) got awarded with 375 euros prize money.

Day 2 Sunday 11th December

The nice sunny and windy conditions from Saturday has been replaced by a cooler and rainy morning, however this did not affect the motivation of the 20 racers that came to battle and get throught the qualication rounds winning the ticket for the final and the prize money.

Fortunately the wind offered a constant, light breeze up to 7 knots allowing the organisers to achieve the 3 qualifications races within 1 hour. This time, the final door was open to the top 3 of each division delivering raging battles with loud and powerful pumping.

The domination of the Saturday night Final race by the Thai racer Phanthuat Ruamsap continued into this Sunday final with the Master and overall victory.

The NeilPryde Racing Series 2011 is now officially finished with a succesfull and promising world Tour. 8 stopovers, 3 continents, 190 racers, 24 000 euros prize money, and so many smiles will, for sure, encourage us to do more in 2012!

We would like to say a special thanks to the Extreme Sailing Series management and their dedicated team, Kah Soon and his team, the Singapore Sailing Federation and the Singapore Windsurfing association without whom this event wouldn't have been such a great success.
